The Treasures
Out in paperback 2nd July!
My new novel, The Treasures, is the first in a trilogy about a family, and a house over several decades. It was published in June & I'm thrilled at the reception from readers and fellow authors
The Treasures is Book One in the Sevenstones trilogy. It's about Tom Raven and Alice Jansen, how they meet, the secret that binds them, and what brings them together. It opens in 1965 in upstate New York and moves to Scotland, Notting Hill in the 50s, and Manhattan in the febrile, seismic summer of 68.

I've always wanted to write about a family from start to finish, their beginnings and the decades that follow. This trilogy will take us from the Second World War to the present day. I have finished Book 2, The Threads, which will be out next summer! I am editing it at the moment! It is the 80s and it is sooo exciting.

I'm thrilled Good Housekeeping have chosen The Treasures as one of their Good Books for Summer 2026 as it is chosen by readers as well. The reader reviews for this novel have made me more proud than anything. I am so in love with this family and their story. I hope you enjoy it. Look at this divine paperback cover. isn't it gorgeous?

D is for Death

I'm THRILLED to be annoyncing a brand new Dora Wildwood mystery in time for Christmas - Miss Marple meets Nancy Mitford in a Christmas crime novel perfect for fans of the Golden Age of Crime

On a frosty day in December, librarian and part-time detective Dora Wildwood is summoned to Bath. She has no idea what will unfold but she is glad to go; recent events have left her longing to disappear.
Arriving on the world-famous Royal Crescent, Dora learns of Daisy Palmer, whose unsolved murder looms large over the Georgian city. Daisy’s fiancé, Lord Frank Meroe, lives on as an eccentric recluse, his house full of clutter and abandoned treasures, as labyrinthine as it is magnificent.
Then, on the twentieth anniversary of Daisy’s death, the murderer strikes again. As Christmas trees are lit and carol singers gather, Dora is drawn into a tangle of feuding families, suspicious antiquarian dealings and a conspicuous silence from everyone involved. For in the city of Jane Austen, loyalties run deep… and dangerously so.’

Praise for D is for Death, my first crime novel, published in 2024 and longlisted for the CWA Gold Dagger Award:

An instant classic. I loved it so much – Marian Keyes
A fun, charming mystery with a brilliant heroine you'll fall in love with! ― Good Housekeeping
‘This isn't your average cosy crime novel. With an Agatha Christie-esque murder mystery and a perceptive, hugely likeable amateur sleuth to guide the way, this is an entertaining and nostalgic whodunnit with vivid period detail’ – Culturefly
‘A charming and authentic ode to Golden Age crime fiction and to books in general’ – Chris Brookmyre
'Evil was out and about that night, stealing through the glittering, empty streets of Bath, quiet as the whisk of a cape, cold as the ice on the ancient stones. As Daisy Palmer lay dying, she understood it had been waiting for her. She had known for a while ...'
